Acceptance of terms
By creating a Lona account or accessing lonaos.com you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the platform.
These terms form a binding agreement between you and Lona. They apply alongside our Privacy Policy and our Disclaimer.
Eligibility
You must be at least eighteen years old and capable of forming a binding contract in your jurisdiction. You confirm that the information you provide during application is accurate, that your declared expertise is genuine, and that you have the right to perform work you accept on the platform.
Accounts and access
You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. Lona may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, our quality standards, or applicable law.
Tasks and payment
When you accept a task you commit to completing it according to its stated brief, quality bar, and deadline. We compensate accepted, qualifying work at the published rate.
- Payments are processed monthly via our payment partners.
- You are responsible for taxes due in your jurisdiction.
- Tasks may be rejected if they fail quality review; we will tell you why and, where appropriate, offer revision.
Acceptable use
You may not use Lona to perform work outside the scope of the task brief, to harass other experts or staff, to misrepresent your identity, to share proprietary client material outside the platform, or to attempt to circumvent our quality, security, or anti-fraud measures.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations, suspend access during investigation, and remove content that breaches these terms.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of pre-existing intellectual property you bring to the platform. Outputs you create as part of an accepted task are assigned to the client commissioning the task on completion and payment, except where the task brief states otherwise.
Lona and its licensors own the platform itself — the software, marks, designs, and documentation. Nothing in these terms transfers those rights to you.
Warranties and disclaimers
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lona disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lona will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the platform is limited to the greater of the amounts paid to you in the twelve months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or to protect the platform and other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, liability, governing law) will survive.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced at least fourteen days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, unless required otherwise by your local law.
